October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we’re painting Fishtown purple to help end domestic violence. Lighting Ceremony and Survivor Celebration
Join us on Friday October 14th from 5:30 to 8pm for our annual Lighting Ceremony and Survivor Celebration to acknowledge and celebrate the successes of our survivors. Light refreshments will be served. The event will conclude with a short award presentation and the lighting of our Paint Fishtown Purple lights, which represent the clients served through our Domestic Violence Program annually. Domestic Violence Hotline
The Philadelphia Domestic Violence Hotline (1-866-723-3014) is a free 24-hour resource for anyone experiencing abuse. Available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, the hotline is operated by counselors trained in domestic violence response, and offers anonymous and confidential services including safety planning, crisis counseling, and referrals to appropriate services. Lutheran Settlement House operates this hotline in partnership with Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Women Against Abuse, and Women in Transition. The hotline is available in a variety of languages including English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese, and translation services are available as well.
