Senior Center
Activities

Speakers: provide seniors with information and resources on a daily basis. Community based hospitals, wellness centers, universities, colleges, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, and United Way collaborate with theLSH Senior Center in providing healthcare topics and screenings.

Gardening: A community garden is maintained by members of the Senior Center in associate with the Federation of Neighborhood Centers and the Teens 4 Good program. The garden is a focal point for bringing the neighborhood together. Neighbors from the surrounding community can also reserve a plot where they can grow flowers or vegetable. The seniors are busy with garden tasks from the end of March until the fall. The garden project welcomes volunteers.

Trips: The Senior Center offers two annual trips. The first week in June, a fun, activity-packed trip to Wildwood starts the summer season. The second trip in the fall takes members to the Salvation Army Ladore Retreat Center located in a beautiful mountain setting not far from Scranton, PA. During the year, day trips to casinos, plays and local places of interest are also offered. For information please contact (215)426.8610, ext. 206

Holidays: Special events and holidays are celebrated all through the year, marked by parties, luncheons, and musical entertainment.
